It is very easy to install Bluetooth in your vehicle with a rear view mirror device. Because the laws concerning driving while talking on cell phones have changed over the years, more people are investing in Bluetooth technology so they can talk without having to hold their phone. This helps people pay more attention to the roads and less on finding a strong signal or trying to  hear people clearly. Bluetooth technology also allows people to keep both hands on the steering wheel when driving.

 

COMPATIBILITY 

Before purchasing any hands-free device, you should make sure that your cell phone, headsets, and other devices are Bluetooth compatible. In order to use this short range signal, all devices must be able to connect with each other. If you don’t have a cell phone with Bluetooth, consider upgrading. You may not have much choice if driving laws have changed in your area. 

Once have a cell phone with Bluetooth, you can purchase a device. Most rear view hands-free devices are compatible with iPods, MP3 players, and wireless headsets. This means you can listen to music you have downloaded or use a headset when talking on the phone.

It is very easy to install a hands-free device that relies on Bluetooth technology. If you purchase a device that attaches to your rear view mirror, it should only take a few seconds to attach. Once the device is attached, you can turn it on and program it to fit your lifestyle. 

You may need to synch it to your cell phone, but this is very easy as most rear view mirror devices instantly recognize other devices that use Bluetooth. Included with the device is an instructional manual that can help you connect to your cell phone.

 

PROGRAMMING YOUR NEW HANDS-FREE DEVICE 

Programming your new device is also easy. You will be able to enter all phone numbers that are already in your cell phone quickly. If you have the voice activation feature on your cell phone, you can also use it with your new device. Create voice tags as you would on your cell phone to use when driving. 

If you don’t have voice activation, you can program phone numbers in the order you want them to be in so they are easy to find.  Control buttons are conveniently located in the front of the device. 

In addition to programming phone numbers, you can assign special ring tones to identify who is calling.

 

BATTERY LIFE AND OTHER INFORMATION 

Unless you pay to have a hands-free device installed in your car, you will have to rely on rechargeable batteries. These batteries have a life of one week or more depending on how often you use the device. Included is a charger/adaptor so you can recharge the batteries when they need it. 

A rear view mirror device is an affordable alternative to those who want to create a hands-free environment in their vehicle, but who cannot spend money or time having a device installed.
