Description

The hands free Bluetooth rear-view mirror is a wireless device that utilises the latest Bluetooth technology to communicate with any Bluetooth phone within a 10-metre range. This allows you to talk using only the built-in high quality loudspeaker and external high sensitivity microphone; and all without the need to hold the phone or take your hands off the steering wheel. Just leave your mobile phone in pocket or purse. It simply connects to your Bluetooth phone automatically; just start your engine and turn it on; all without the need for cables or phone holders. Just clip the unit onto your existing rear view mirror and you will be able to answer calls and ring friends or business colleagues by simply speaking their name using voice tags, which most Bluetooth enabled phones support. You can also dial, end, reject, redial and adjust speaker volume by the simple push of a button.

What is Bluetooth

Bluetooth is a radio frequency based cable replacement technology. A device has to be Bluetooth enabled (i.e. contain a Bluetooth chip) to be able to use a Bluetooth connection.
It is designed to be an inexpensive wireless personal networking system for all classes of portable devices such as laptops, PDA`s (Personal digital assistants), mobile phones and headsets.
Bluetooth range for a class 3 device (mobile phones, pda's etc) is 10m (30 feet) but can be affected by environmental conditions such as furniture etc. Bluetooth is not a line of sight connection so it can be used through walls and floors.
Bluetooth is faster than an ISDN connection but slower than a IR (infra red) connection used on a laptop - a normal Bluetooth connection is about the same speed as a home broadband connection.
It is a common misconception that all Bluetooth devices can connect to any other device and browse the information on it. This cannot be done without the user setting the device to do so. Bluetooth security has various levels of authentication including pin code entry and up to 128-bit encryption.

Notes:

*Bluetooth wireless technology is an international standard for short range wireless communication. It allows you to establish a wireless connection within a range of 10 metres between your mirror and a compatible device. Bluetooth is a registered trademark of Bluetooth SIG Inc.

**Function available on mobile phones with voice dialling capability.

***Ability to connect more than one phone depends on Bluetooth compatibility and can be dependant on phone model.
